Legacy is a strange word. It means something that is left behind. It might be financial, such as money in a will, trust or inheritance. Or a legacy may be memories of a previous time. These legacy memories may come in the form of learning, knowledge, traditions, precedent, DNA, history or anything passed from the past to the future. There are subtle but important differences between inheritance, heirlooms and legacy. You might leave your family an inheritance and a few family heirlooms. But the true, and most valuable legacy you leave your children or grandchildren, is their memories of you.
